The White-backed vulture, along with other various African vulture species, is currently listed on the IUCN Red List in critically endangered conservation status with their population declining rapidly.
Vultures are important to our ecosystem because they clear out dead animal carcasses which stops the spread of disease. Unfortunately they have been caught in the middle of conflict between local farmers and predators in their areas. In an effort to save their livestock, predators are often poisoned. When vultures consume carcasses that contain poison, they are also affected.
Don’t leave this species in the dust!
You can help to save them by supporting wildlife conseervation organizations. !0% of sales of this photo will be donated to the Maasai Mara Wildlife Conservancies Association.
